The nachos are a delicious dish of Mexican origin, which consists of making some corn tortillas and then frying them and covering them or not with a special cheese. The nachos originate in a Mexican city called Piedras Negras , precisely in a small restaurant known as “El Moderno”, where several American military wives arrived once the restaurant was closed. The waiter decided to prepare a dish with what he had available: tortilla chips and cheese. When they were brought to the table, the women asked him what his name was, and he replied “nacho.” The dish became so famous that when people wanted to consume them they only said “I want a couple of nachos.”

How to make homemade nachos?

 

To make homemade nachos you simply have to divide corn tortillas into six portions and fry them in plenty of hot oil until they are browned on both sides. Remove them with a slotted spoon and let them drain into a bowl of absorbent paper. Accompany them with the following sauces for nachos .

Avocado sauce

Ingredients

 

  • 2 ripe avocados
  •  

  • 3 jalapeno peppers
  •  

  • A bunch of coriander
  •  

  • Juice of 3 lemons
  •  

  • 1 clove of garlic
  •  

  • Salt and ground black pepper
  •  

Elaboration

 

1. Cut the avocado in half and remove the carozo and the pulp with a spoon.

 

2. Place the avocado pulp in a blender or processor along with the chopped jalapeno peppers, the peeled garlic clove, the coriander bunch and the juice of three lemons.

 

3. Mix everything until the ingredients are well integrated and, finally, pepper to taste.

Ingredients

 

  • 3 tomatoes
  •  

  • 2 jalapeno peppers
  •  

  • A bunch of coriander
  •  

  • ¼ onion
  •  

  • Juice of 1 lemon
  •  

  • 1 clove of garlic
  •  

  • Salt and ground black pepper
  •  

Step by step development

 

1. Wash tomatoes well and cut them into pieces.

 

2. Peel and chop the onion and garlic clove.

 

3. Cut the jalapeno peppers into small dice.

 

4. Chop the cilantro bunch and place it in a blender or food processor along with the above ingredients plus lemon juice, salt and ground black pepper.

 

Homemade garlic sauce

 

Salsa de ajo para nachos

 

Ingredients

 

  • 2 eggs
  •  

  • 6 cloves of garlic
  •  

  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  •  

  • 1 cup sunflower oil
  •  

  • Juice of 1 lemon
  •  

  • A bunch of parsley
  •  

Step by step development

 

1. Place the peeled garlic cloves in a blender along with the eggs and half the cup of oil.

 

2. Blend for a few minutes until obtain a mayonnaise and then add the oil and lemon juice in an intercalated manner while continuing to mix. It is not necessary that you use all the lemon, because perhaps ¾ parts of the juice of a lemon is enough.

 

3. Pass the mixture into a bowl and mix with the finely chopped parsley.
